Deakin University student accomodation was organised back in July 2016. Landscape plus come to SAI Stone wanting to form a stone cobble central area where students could come & walk between their living quarters & the school itself. We had many meetings with the Landscape architect to work out the different natural stone colours that will suit the area. It was extremely important to choose light coloured stone to help motivate all the students that will use this area every day. Due to the size & nature of the student accomodation we thought it would look really good to nominate 5 different types of coloured natural stone granite cobbles. The colours we ended up using were Burgundy, Mustard, Sahara Gold, Riverstone & Sunset. There was a mixture of flamed & hummered finish. The size of the total areas including the balconies was just under 1,000m2. The size of each individually laid granite cobble was 100x100x40. After the project was finished all parties were extremely happy with the outcome.
